Early elections were called in Selucia after the dissolution of the Optimates party and the loss of government majority of Factio Republicana and Factio Unitatis Patriae.

Presidential elections

All polls predicted a close race between the candidates of In Marea-Civis Sinistram, the incumbent Fulvia Arusa, and the candidate of Factio Republicana, Cyprianus Tiburtius Numitor. However, the support of Factio Unitatis Patriae to Numitor's campaign increased the margin between both candidates and led the latter to win the first round with more than 45% of the popular vote contrasting with the 27% of Arusa's. However, the incumbent Consul managed to turn the results in her favour and resulted elected in second round after beating Numitor by more than 4 million votes and almost 7% of difference.
