Aldurville sometimes still called Aldur or Ville de Aldur is the capital and one of the oldest cities in Alduria. It is located in the Bendérie department of Alduria. The Aldurville Metropolitan Region, better known as the Pays de l'Aldur (Canrillaise: Land of the Aldur), has grown past the traditional department borders of Bendérie into the Mondalat department and straddles the two regions. The Pays de l'Aldur is believed to encompass around 11 million residents and is home to some of the most important historical buildings of Alduria.

Government and administration[]

Aldurville has the special status of a department and thus the Mayor of Aldurville has the same authority as a department's Governor. The Council of Aldurville (Canrillaise: Conseil d'Aldurville) is a 25 member body that is elected from each of Municipal District (Canrillaise: Arrondissement municipal) commonly called an Arrondissement. The Mayor of Aldurville is typically an influential politician and is considered to be a high profile political office within the nation. The Mayor of Aldurville is elected every 5 years outside of nation-wide general elections but they are generally held around the same time.

Porthos Spanghero, a member of The Republicans, was elected as the Mayor of Aldurville in the nation-wide general elections held in February, 5280 and has promised to restore the city to its so-called "former glory" and has launched the Aldurville 5300 project which aims to put the city back on track in 20 years.

Economy[]

Aldurville's primary focus has been trade due to its coastal location and is home to one of the largest ports in Seleya. The titular "Port of Aldurville" (Canrillaise: Port d'Aldurville) contributes significantly to the trade across southern Seleya in addition to trade with Majatra and other continents around the world. The Port of Aldurville is managed by the Port Authority of Aldurville (Canrillaise: Port Autonome d'Aldurville) and a public-private venture that is largely managed by the municipality of Aldurville in addition to the Ministry of Finance and Economy and the Ministry of Trade, Development and Industry.

Infrastructure and transport[]

The Aldur Central Railway Station (Canrillaise: Gare centrale d'Aldur) is the largest railway station in Aldur and is currently (as of August, 5280) under massive renovation and reconstruction.
