The regular army of Kanjor is broken into seven permanent divisions of roughly 30,000 men each. Each mainland région has two infantry division stationed within its borders while Vagderra houses the single armored division.
[edit] History[edit] Structure[edit] Fusiliers- main forces of Kanjorien army [edit] Ranks[edit] Training[edit] Equipment[edit] Légion Étranger de KanjorThere is one Foreign Legion Division comprised of non-Kanjorien nationals. They are considered by the country, and themselves, to be an elite fighting force. The Foreign Legion is often a pathway to citizenship given the strict immigration controls of Kanjor. - unlike other nation's foreign forces, can ONLY be foreigners, no Kanjorien citizens are allowed [edit] Origin- civil war; need for loyal troops - Valerians asked for foreign troops loyal to them - formed in 1960 - Legion with a distinctive spirit and symbolism - many settled in Narseille after service
[edit] Training- 15 weeks training - intensive training; non-Kanjoriens who meet certain standards may forego basic training and move onto more advanced training - no bullying by training staff; recruits encouraged to aid each other - recruits allowed to drop out of training; then promptly deported but must pay cost of leaving -
[edit] Equipment- primarily light infantry unit; mixed units - idea to fight in near suicidal situations or surrounded, etc. - units trained & equipped to fight independently, light supporting artillery (mortars), limited heavy weapons, light vehicles, mobile anti-tank weapons [edit] Garde TerritorialGiven the large number of conscripts serving in the military due to the National Service Act of January 2610 the army is not considered fully regular or professional. Instead, the vast majority of the armed forces are part-time Garde Territorial reservists. The GT consists of roughly 650,000 men, mostly conscripts, making up thirteen divisions of 50,000 men each. GT members attend regular training camps and frequently participate in exercises alongside the regular army. These forces are unequally distributed throughout the kingdom and their headquarters often move every several years to coincide with the demographic shifts of the population of the GT.
