Gavonia (Dundorfian: Gawonau, Alorian: Gwaelchmai) is a State in Aloria.

Gavonshire borders on the states of Kurmal in the east, Ultran in the north and Sildar in th west. Dundorf lies to the south. Gavonshire's entire western border with Krentori is formed by the Krentori River and its eastern border by the Verita River. Gavonshire has 19 districts and 1 federal district (the nation's capital Libertia). It's largest cities are Libertia, Pax and Mansfield. Libertia is located at the westbank of the Ultran River.

Landscape[]

The northwestern area of Gavonshire is an area of mostly flat prairie, as part of the Midwest, and it is characterized by small towns and mid-sized cities. Although the state contained some highly industrialized areas along the Ultran River and the northeastern parts, the vast majority of the state is dominated by farms, forests, rivers and mountains. Rural areas in the northern portion of the state are typically composed of a patchwork of farmin fields and forested areas.

Further down south, the geography of Southern Gavonshire consists of gently rolling hills. South of the Thompson Channel, a region of hills and therefore higher and more rugged topography, occupies the southern part of the state, noted for its idyllic scenery.

Gavonshire's most profitable export export is steel. Bauxite, copper and coal, which are used in the manufacture of steel, are mined locally from the Kurmal Mountains. The result is that Gavonshire is able to manufacture steel for a very low price.

{C}New global demand for iron and coal have led to an explosion in Gavonshire's mining economy in recent years.

Corn and beef are Gavonshire's chief agricultural exports.

{C}Libertia is home to many corporate and government agency headquarters. Rockygroup Incorporated, National Public Television, the National Bank of Aloria, Transportation Car Insurance, International Steel, and Fjord Motor Companies are all based in Libertia. While many corporations headquarter in Libertia, Gavonshire encourages them to base their industrial operations in Pax to reduce pollution levels around the nation's capital.

The arable land in the west of the province is used for peach farming. In the past peaches were a primary export product of the country, but as the province has industrialized, peach farming has diminished. Nonetheless, peach orchards are part of the rich historical heritage of the country. The famous Peach Orchard on the south lawn of the Presidential Palace is a popular spot for holding press conferences and entertaining foreign dignitaries.
