The Christian Communist Party (Hulstrian:Christlishe Kommuniestech Partei, Gao-Showa:Kirisotuka Kyo Sonto) known as the CCP (and sometimes the CKP) is a political party in Gishoto. The party is strongly religious and holds the belief that true christian belief demands a collective economy in which all believers are equal.

[edit] History of the CCP
[edit] First Incarnation
The party was founded by Haruhi Suzumiya and Tiberius Gracchus two newly qualified law students and members of the Communist Party of Gishoto. They were influenced by the beliefs of a 17th century religious and political philosopher from Luthori by the name of Gerrard Winstanley. He had founded a group called the true levellers who practiced one of the earliest forms of communism based entirely on christian teachings. The basis behind the levellers and therefore behind Christian Communism is the levelling of the ruling class and of all property and complete dedication to god in a world where all are equal and there is no struggle othere material wealth. Suzumiya and Gracchus felt that although the revolution in Gishoto had removed private property religion had been oppressed and that the true revolution, that of the soul, had been destroyed by the fakery of marxist communism in place.
Gaining support both from disenchanted members of the Communist and Intellectual Revolutionary Party and the oppressed Lutherans the CCP swept into power making radical changes and bringing the church (though chaged to a more radical and leftist form that previously) back firmly into the business of the state. However the dominance of the party from 2272-2280 quickly faded as the Imperial Hulstrian Party and Lutheran Nationalist Party returned along with several new parties from across the politcal spectrum.
With some changes in the leadership, notably the rise of Lanzo Henning in the Supreme Soviet and the decline of the Lutheran Nationalists the CCP halted it's decline and began to make some gradual increases. However with the death of Haruhi Suzumiya the Party went into a tailspin collapsing within months.
[edit] Second Incarnation
The movement remained dormant until gaining new followers in the apartheid era and was refounded in January 2281 with the goal of overthrowing the Kaiser of what had become Greater Hulstria and recreating Gishoto as a Christian Socialist Republic. The Party briefly claimed a majority in the Diet and was able to form a government but lacked the neccesary seats to make any major long lasting changes. Efforts by the establishment to remove the parties support and attack it's inner structure quickly took effect and within a few years the party was forced to close and it's leaders imprisoned or exiled.
[edit] Third Incarnation
In early 2479 Ayumi Meyer, a descendant of Haruhi Meyer nee Suzumiya, refounded the party with a perhaps more legitimate claim on continuity from the original CCP than the apartheid era party. The party made an early impact in a snap election, becoming the 2nd largest party in the Imperial Diet and with Meyer coming third in the race for the position of Lord Protector. With the CCP at the forefront the Monarchy was rapidly dismantled and a new Republic, largely rooted in Lutheran Christianity, created. Ayumi has gone on to be elected Archon on 3 occasions.

[edit] Political Positions
[edit] Economics
All private property should be removed and granted to the people in the form of the state. All industry shall be run by the workers. The economy should be geared to sustaining and spreading the true revolution of Christian Communism.
[edit] Military
The military shall be strong to protect the revolution and to spread it. All citizens should be expected to give their all in supporting the revolution trhough force of arms if neccesary.
[edit] Religion
Christianity is the one true religion. All others are unneccesary and taint the kingdom of heaven on earth. They should be removed by all means.
[edit] Foreign Policy
Christian Communist revolutions should be supported and encouraged. Revolutions by Marxists should only be supported if the concesion of free religion is gained (a strong military should help gain leverage for Gishoto in such situations). Once a socialist revolution is secured the state should support Christian Communists.
[edit] The Federal State
The CCP is a federalist party, believing that power should be devolved away from the central government as much as possible to avoid the rise of a new bureaucratic class which takes control of the state away from God and his people.
[edit] Nationalism
The ideas of separate states based on ideas of race are constructs of the aristocracy. The idea of a Hulstrian race was developed by the ruling class of that region to control all citizens of their creed and likewise for the Gao-Showa. The CCP disavows such views. All citizens are Christians first and foremost and secondarily Gishotons, nothing else!
