The emblem of the Commonwealth is formed by eight cherry blossom surrounding a middle larger one. It symbolises the Gao-Showa diaspora across Terra uniting around the Gao-Showa civilisation.

The Commonwealth of Gao Nations (Kunikata: 御國聯合 Mikoku Rengou, Indralan: 大高國協 Dà Gāo Guóxié) is a super-national political entity of nations of Gao-Showa heritage. It seeks to increase economic, military, and cultural cooperation between Gao-Showan nations in Terra, as well as to assist the preservation and promotion of Gao-Showan culture.

It is meant to be a replacement of the defunct Empire of Dai-Gao, which is deemed too politically-centralised to be practical. Terunori Kitano, the founder of the Gao Nation Restoration Society and proposer of the Commonwealth of Gao Nations, argues that the Empire of Dai-Gao "failed in upholding the banner of pan-Gao-Showan nationalism" because of its lack of momentum and popular support, and believes that the commonwealth, being clear on its objective, will succeed in creating the foundation of the future Gao-centric hegemony.

Objective[]

The chief objective of the commonwealth is to "preserve and promote Gao-Showan culture and values" over Terra, which is accomplished by its coordination of cultural, economic, as well as political and military cooperation between Gao-Showan nations. The commonwealth is also responsible for the funding and advisory towards numerous Gao-Showan organisations across Terra, especially those living in countries that do not have a Gao-Showan majority or government, as well as to back up their operations through various means, up and including de-colonisation and "liberation" of Gao-Showan population from "foreign oppression".

Internally, the commonwealth seek to revive the traditional "Gao-Soto ideals", which are a series of morals and reforms based on the record of the old Empire of Gao-Soto and other semi-mythicised record of the ancient Gao-Showan civilisation. It believes that once foreign military and cultural aggression is purged from the Gao-Showan states, a new golden age for the Gao civilisation will come.

Membership[]

Criteria[]

The requirement of being a full member is that the applying country or party must either have a majority of population or member descended from, or heavily influenced by the Gao-Showa ethnicity, including Indralan, Kunihito, Kyo, Đinh and Mu-Tze. Related ethnicity such as Tukarese is often considered to be influenced by Gao-Showan culture enough to be a member state.

Apart from full members, the commonwealth also has observers. Unlike full members, the only requirement for a country or party to apply for observer status is that they must not have discriminatory policy or platform against the Gao-Showan ethnicity. While they are not obliged to the rules of the Commonwealth unless stated otherwise, they are not considered part of it, and have no vote on important matters.
