The Dolgarian Liberal Party is a capitalist libertarian party. It was formerly known as the Alliance for Liberty party before the change to the present name.
Presently it advocates almost total non-intereference from the government in personal and economic affairs. It upholds the three elements of human rights: life, liberty and property.
In the current party system, the CSA Pax et Socialism and the Workers Party of Dolgaria are opposed to the Dolgarian Liberal Party whilst the Dolgarian Federal Party has been a coalition partner in several DFP/DLP governments.
Alliance for Liberty[]
The Alliance for Liberty was established just prior to the October 2397 elections. Starting out with small numbers, it became a centre-right party advocating minimal social welfare, reduced government regulation and social non-interference.
The chief motto of the Alliance was "Freedom and fairness".
In the 2470's, the party had enhanced it's position in politics and many new member had been gained. During this period of growth, a transition occurred from centre-right politics to the ideology of libertarianism.
Dolgarian Liberal Party[]
Renamed the Dolgarian Liberal Party in 2473, the new factional majority led the party in a new direction. Policies were established, contrary to old ones, that advocated no social welfare, no government interference with economic affairs, complete privatization of national services and increase in personal decision making.
With these policies, the Presidency has been won often. Many parties that have come and gone have been coalition partners with the DLP, making it one of the most consistently present parties in the history of Dolgaria.
