Dorvish-Uwakah is a region of the People's Republic of Kirlawa. It is part of the province of Uwakah. The region is a special region, with a devolved Dorvish-Uwakah Diet and several other measures that were established under the Dorvish-Uwakah Treaty of 2345, and from 2337 to 2350 compromised the independent state of the Free State of Dorvish-Uwakah.
[edit] Geography
Dorvish-Uwakah is a coastal-based region of approximately 9,500 sq km in size, with the eastern coastline significant in the nation's geography. There are two major cities in the area - the capital, Mygee, in the north, and the city of Takana in the south. The area is mostly semi-rural - there are numerous small towns and plains in the east of the area along the coast, with a part of the west (approximately 2,000 sq km) part of the protected Uwakan Forests. The area is somewhat less developed than the south, although development has been greatly boosted by its brief status as a nation.
[edit] Economy
Dorvish-Uwakah's economy is mainly agrarian-based. Vegetables such as peas are grown in the rural areas in the centre of the region, and berries are picked from the forested areas. There is no major port, so the few goods that are exported tyically are done so through Ukhana or Micana. A tiny amount of iron ore, coal and aluminium is processed in Takana.
[edit] Government
Dorvish-Uwakah has a special system of government compared to the rest of Kirlawa. The Federal People's Assembly and Uwakah Provincial Assembly have jurisdiction over most matters, with a devolved Dorvish-Uwakah Diet also playing a key role in the area's running. There are also a number of local councils - there are two City Councils, six borough councils, three Canton Councils (which serve a mostly ceremonial role) and fifteen district councils.
