Elections in Saridan occur within the framework of a representative democracy and a semi-presidential republic.
Voters[]
For all elections in Saridan, at the national, provincial and local level, direct elections are held in which all adults are enfranchised. Once reaching the age of eighteen, Saridanese citizens must register with the nation's electoral commission before they become eligible to vote. In addition, eligible voters must be able to present their identification card in order to receive a ballot paper.
Electoral system[]
For elections to the executive branch, two-round runoff voting is used. Proportional representation is used for legislative elections.
