The Axis Agreement Organization, or just known as "the Organization" in this article, is an international institution of political parties founded in October 2347 from across Terra that are committed to defense, the preservation, and future development of The Axis.

The Organisation works in collaberation with several other Axis party organisations and is supported by two international Axis Treaties[1][2] - each of which strengthens the authority, power, and structure of The Axis.

The Organisation currently composes over 20 active political parties of ranging ideologies; there have been a total of 121 parties that have joined the Axis since its founding.

History[]

A Union is Formed[]

The Axis in its original form was unified between Deltaria and Zardugal in the wake of the Saiserist League uprising in Zardugal. The Saiserists defeat in Zardugal was bittersweet at best, the Saiserist League having been expelled from Zardugal expanded their operations into other nations calling for a New World Order. Much of the Saiserists initial support after their defeat came directly from currying favor with the more leftist factions of Terra.

The Axis formed directly in response to the threat of a unified Saiserist League with the Cominterm and other extreme loosely aligned organizations. What the Saiserists had done during the Great Zardic Struggle was evidence enough that this wasn't a threat to ignore. The details of the initial diplomatic channels used to organize a meeting of the soon to be Axis Alliance of Terra are lost to history. What is known for certain is the key proponents of a Terran wide alliance to stop the N.W.O. was the governments of Deltaria and Zardugal.

It is unknown, though extensive research is being conducted on the matter, as to which nations were present at the very first meeting of what inevitably would become the Axis Alliance. Many nations did come, and the array of governments presented created the first major schism within the organization. It is known that a large group of the representatives assembled argued stridently for the inclusion of those on the fringes of the left and right be allowed into the organization for the sake a wider front to combat the growing menace of the N.W.O.

Despite the calls to allow in some of the more questionable factions into the Axis, the proponents of exclusion won the day. It has been documented that in the closing days of the first assembled conference of the Axis the focal point of the issue of inclusion over exclusion was between the royalist wing of the Axis and the republican wing of the Axis. The most vocal of the royalist faction was the delegation from Luthori which had taken an increasingly dominant role in the establishment of the Axis Alliance of Terra. The Luthorian Government was quite opposed to any deals allowing leftist organizations into the Axis due to their potential ties with the Cominterm and Saiserists. Due to the considerable influence at the time of the International Monarchist League the inclusion faction was essentially forced to give into the demands and ban any party or nation from the Axis with any suspect links to the united front of the left, the New World Order.

The Union of Monarchs and Republicans[]

With the Axis delivering and receiving major blows in the battle against the N.W.O. the leadership of the Axis Alliance began to realize that with the nations allied against the threat of the N.W.O. the Axis simply needed a stronger base of support. In hindsight one may be confused as to why the Axis did not review its charter which prevented willing nations on the left to join in arms to fight the N.W.O. when the Axis opted instead to form the Holy Imperial Alliance and consolidate the monarchies of Terra.

The explanation for why the Axis formed the Holy Imperial Alliance is fairly simple when one looks at the defeats of the New World Order. The N.W.O. whether planned or not, won major victories against some of the Axis' strongest allies in the early years of the war; all of which were elected democracies. This weakened the republican faction of the Axis Alliance and made way for the leadership of the Axis to create and form the Holy Imperial Alliance.

The Holy Imperial Alliance was the official organizational and strategic operations mechanism in the continued war against the N.W.O. The International Monarchist League had been largely behind the cause of the Axis however, many nations within the I.M.L. were hesitate to support with their blood the fight against the radical factions bent on the destruction of the civil society of all of Terra. To the credit of the monarchist leaders within the Axis, it was decided that the I.M.L. must be brought into line and further unified if any chance of victory was to be had. The question of sovereignty and rights of military obligations hindered the process for months when at last the concept for an independent organization both of the Axis and the I.M.L. was launched.

The Holy Imperial Alliance served its purpose and under the leadership of the members of the H.I.A. the N.W.O. was soundly defeated. This did not come without a price however. As the N.W.O. was consistently pushed back and more nations joined the Axis, most of elected democracies the divisions of ideology began to cause friction within the H.I.A. While these disputes often threatened to end the official union of the Axis with the I.M.L. it was not to be. The H.I.A. existed long after the first Terran wide war against the N.W.O. and oversaw the second rise of the New World Order and the resurrection of the Saiserists League. Through the years the role of the H.I.A. diminished significantly and increasingly became an outlet for royalist and republican forces to debate and argue amongst themselves. Some argue this lead to a long period of inaction and indifference by both the Axis and the International Monarchist League in Terran foreign police. Some argued the silence was natural given no threat had given cause for the Holy Imperial Alliance to take up.

Crucible of Change[]

At the last meeting of the Holy Imperial Alliance representatives from the Axis and International Monarchist League were all present for what would become a new beginning for both the I.M.L. and Axis. Many of the grandchildren of the several of the original founders of the Axis and the Holy Imperial Alliance were in attendance and the centuries old rivalries have not appeared in any official minutes of the meeting and the evidence for a unique and renewed appreciation of the former divisions within the Holy Imperial Alliance were bridged.

At the end of the meeting, it was resolved by the will of the council that the Holy Imperial Alliance no longer was a viable instrument to maintain and accordingly was terminated. This was not an official end of relations between republican and royalist forces as some at the time speculated; if anything the apparent decision to end the Holy Imperial Alliance proved to be an astoundingly impressive unifying factor between what would become some of the most prominent members of the Axis and International Monarchist League.

After the formal division of the International Monarchist League and the Axis Alliance, the Axis Leadership convened its first meeting to revisit a centuries old issue. With the continued persistence of the republican forces within the Axis and many of the original founding nations still involved with the Axis the issue of the banning of leftist organizations was brought to the forefront of the Alliance's attention. The most vocal supporters of dismissing the charter prohibiting friendly factions of a different political ideology came from the Zardic representatives. According to the minutes of the meetings it's clear the issue was still very controversial. Many members within the Leadership Council of the Axis were also in the International Monarchist League and were hesitate to consider the reforms proposed. At the end of the day however, the progressives won the day and the prohibition of leftist nations was dropped.

The Still Night[]

The Axis Alliance of Terra found itself in a unique position after the fall of the Holy Imperial Alliance. Relations with the royalists, republicans and communists were at a minimum quite stable and reliable. Some may reflect this was the cause of a tranquil zeitgeist across Terra others to backroom deals. Often when there is silence, people have clung to conspiracy theories over no theories and this twilight period of the rising Axis remains all the fury in conversations among the rank and file members of the Axis; which was it really?

What gives many pause about the twilight of the rebirth of the Axis is that seemingly as if by pure coincidence Terra was entering into the age of formal international alliance. While the Axis had long been Terra's longest standing international defensive alliance, newer organizations began to spring up in nations typically uninterested in the rigors of the geopolitical maze of Terran politics.

The separation from the H.I.A. and the conflicts of interests between some senior officers within the Axis and other organizations nearly caused the Axis to splinter despite a consistent base of nations within the Axis Alliance Organization. This brief period of near silence from the leadership of the Axis was to blame due to their deliberations on the future of the Alliance, or so say the records. With the changing international political landscape and the growing number of united superpowers, what was the role of the Axis to be?

The support of the nations, members and factions who remained friends to the Axis during this period have never been forgotten and to this day the Axis has continued strong relations with them or embraced them as part of the Axis Organization. Had it not been for the rank and file members of the Axis Alliance during this trying time, it is my view the Axis Alliance wouldn't be here today.

The Axis Leadership Council was aware of this growing movement of mass organized powers among nations. Some reports indicate that the presiding Chairman and Commanders actively kept tabs on the growing organizations. A formal wing of the Axis was established specifically to spy upon the organizations. Not all of the rising international movements were viewed as a threat or even a rival. Without question, the Chair and Commanders of the A.A.T. knew what had to be done whether they viewed these rising powers as threats or not-expand.

The Axis Reborn[]

With a renewed vision on the future and creed, the Chair of the Axis and the Leadership Council ushered in sweeping and drastic reforms. For the entire history of the organization the Axis acted as a purely defensive alliance of nations united against a threat long since vanquished. The new mandate of the Axis was to put into international law a new commitment among allies. These treaties focused heavily on a group of nations bound to honor one another's right to self determination, sovereignty, respect of cultural difference and ultimately to the common defense of one another.

The changes were generally welcomed by the beleaguered members of the Axis and greeted with open arms. A new era of transparency came to pass as well. Elections were held based upon qualifications for positions on the Leadership Council, every member was encouraged to exercise their right of concern, appeal and vote before the Axis Organization for consideration. Economic growth was an unexpected byproduct of these new changes. What happened and remains as of the time of this writing are incredibly strong and enduring national alliances independent of any treaty, in part due to this new environment of cooperation and equality among all members of all parties.
