Religion in Kalistan is extremely diverse. In modern times, the Society of Brethren has been the most popular religion, often dominating the political culture of the country.
Legal status[]
The legal position of religion in Kalistan has proved a difficult political issues over the centuries. Although most political parties and governments have emphasised the crucial nature of freedom of religion, the manner in which this is protected and the extent to which it requires the suppression of religious symbolism has been controversial.
Hosianism[]
Hosianism is the dominant religion in Kalistan, however most Hosians within the country differ from those elsewhere in Seleya. The Society of Brethren is the largest Hosian sect in the country.
Society of Brethren[]
The Society of Brethren, or Brethrenism, is a relatively new arrival to Kalistan. Nonetheless, it has rapidly become the dominant religion in the country. Although it had existed in other sections of the world beforehand, the modern form of Brethrenism was founded in 3918 by Jonas Bennots-Plum. The expansion of Brethrenism was facilitated by the extended period of one-party government under the Socialist Party of Kalistan, during which many government ministers and senior party figures were vocal adherents to the faith.
Reformed Kalistani Church[]
The Reformed Kalistani Church is the dominant branch of the Bishopal Church in Kalistan and is a member of the Luthori Communion.
Ahmadism[]
Ahmadism is a recent development is Kalistan, brought to the country by migrants from abroad. The dominant form of the faith is Abadism, which is a result of adherents who face persecution seeking refuge in the country. It obtained a minor but dedicated following sometime towards the end of the 40th century.
