The Shi Yawen Institute for Democracy Studies is a research institution which operates under the Kaizhou National University Faculty of Political Science. The Institute was founded in Dongzhou, Indrala, but relocated to Kaizhou following the merger with KNU. The institute is named after former-President Shi Yawen, the founder of the Fourth Republic. The institute publishes periodic reports on the state of democracy in Indrala and around the world. It has been shutdown under the communist rule under Chairman Mao Zheng.
