The United Confederation has had a fluctuating political identity, with four periods of government by Communism, three Monarchies, two liberal republics, and an absolute theocracy, and a confederation (amongst others) throughout its near millennium of independence. It's initial form was as a Communist Republic, which historically seemed the most stable of the governments. For most the past millennium, it was known internationally as New Endralon, a name dating to its prior status as a colony, then a break-away province, of Endralon.
History[]
Warring States of Kizenia[]
Approximately 500 CE, the first evidence of Kuzaki settlers in the Northern portion of the Western Valley emerged. It is unclear to this day whether these settlers were descended from the Gao-Showa directly, or were merely a cousins via a common ancestor, but their arrival was the a major shock to Kizenian culture and civilization to actually be recorded; it is at this point that Kizenian history in fact began to be written of at all, as the Kuzaki had a written language (albeit one with a low literacy rate), but the various Kizenian tribes did not. The word Kizenian itself is believed to be based on the Kuzaki words for energy and natural balance ("Chi" + "Zen"), as the Kuzaki initial impression of Kizenians was as an energetic but childish race of forest dwellers. The settlers founded what ultimately became the modern city of Endraváros, and established the first true nation of Kuzaki, and their population grew rapidly.
Borders between 500 CE and 800 CE
By the year 800, the Kuzaki settlement had de facto control over the entirety of Endrafold, Kutohaderia and Tilarnia Provinces, having explored and enslaved the inhabitants, and converted many of the ancient forests into farmlands and mines. Kizenians in Zyldavia fought the first major organized battle in 833, near Grane, in an effort to repulse the Kuzaki hunger for land and slaves; they were soundly defeated, but this battle sparked the beginnings of Kizenian identity and Kizenian nationality. Survivors of the battle who escaped to Tiania were able to rouse the natives there to defense, and the large mountains separating North and South Kizenia proved an adequate barrier and deterrent against further Kuzaki incursion. For three centuries, Kizenian civilization grew but struggled in Tiania, while the Kuzaki attempted to keep control of their lands and their slaves in the North.
Colonial Era[]
In the 1700s, explorers from the other continents of Terra began their explorations of Keris; Endralon was able to establish a permanent colony near what is now 'Mártírváros, in Zyldavia Province, after routing the Kuzaki defense there, in a battle that pitted ship-mounted cannons versus bows and arrows. The Endralonians were able to quickly bring additional manpower to defend their colony, and over the course of fifty years, they expanded and defeated both the Kuzaki north and the Kizenian south, establishing the territory as three Colonies - Zyldavia Colony, Endrafold Colony, and Kitenia (later Tiania) Colony. In 1812 whole of New Endralon/Kizenia was under the rule of Endralon. Under Endralonian rule, Kuzaki and Kizenian alike were slaves, although conditions were less brutal than under the Kuzaki whip.
Borders between 1700 and 1800
In the 20th century the Kizenian dissatisfaction grew so strong they began an uprising. The battle of Deltabor in 1907 sparked the beginning of the War for Kizenian Independance. On 1908 the Kingdom of Kizenia was formed of the current province of Tiania. This Kingdom was led by Valerian Sandulescu, an ancestor of the current House of Sandulescu. It took the Endrolian Government more than 50 years to conquer the Kingdom of Kizenia.
Socialist Republic of New Endralon (2089-2263)[]
In 2089, the Keris Colonies broke away from Endralon, after a political schism formed in the homeland, putting the left-wing exiles against the extremely conservative wing of Endralon. These left-wing exiles were able to successfully maintain political control in the Colonies, and declared the three Colonies to be the Socialist Republic of New Endralon. Nominally a Marxist nation, the First SRNE largely maintained the racial divisions that had predated independence, with the colonials firmly atop the ladder, and the natives suitable for little more than hard labor.
Gradually, however, as educational opportunities found their way to the native classes, the nation evolved from an Endralon-controlled nation, to an Endralon-dominated one, and ultimately to a Majoritarian nation where the Kizenian language and Kizenian people held increasing importance.
The First SCNE nominally stood for nearly two centuries, under the sway of mostly Endralonian-controlled political factions within the greater Communist Party. Notable exceptions included the Liu, Chiang and Durruti families, who were half-Kuzaki, Indralian immigrant, and Egelian-immigrant, respectively, and each of whom held the title of General Secretary at some point during the SCNE.
The Fall of Communism[]
Over time, popular dissatisfaction began to grow against the longtime communist rule in New Endralon. In particular, the native population was not happy with the continued privileged position enjoyed by the Endralonian colonists. Widespread access to higher education enabled the native population to acquire a growing political awareness, and eventually a number of civil society pressure groups were formed with the purpose of demanding free elections. They were successful, and non-communist parties were eventually allowed to stand for election. This led to a series of market reforms being passed in the 2250s and 60s, and the radical right-wing League of Objectivists! winning an absolute majority in the elections of September 2264. The leader of the Communist Party of New Endralon openly wept when he learned that the country had turned over fire management, mass transit, and electricity provision to the free market. In July 2263, the parliament voted unanimously to remove the word "socialist" from the name of the country.
Federated Hegemony of New Endralon (2263-2390)[]
The Federated Hegemony replaced the First SCNE in 2263. Market reforms brought some relief to the population at large under the Hegemony, although a strong left-right schizm remained. The Gaut family was particularly important as leaders of the capitalist wing, while the Durruti family increasingly symbolized the strength of the political left who desired to return to the "glory years" of socialist rule.
Second SCNE (2390-2512)[]
The restoration of Communist rule, at least in name, finally occurred in 2390, although many of the capitalist reforms remained in place throughout the second SCNE's existence. Increasing numbers of Kizenians and Kuzaki were beginning to earn the right to vote, leading to some occasional oddities, such as the election of the oddly-named protest character, "Funkmaster TX-49958 BX" in 2446. By and large, the Durruti family maintained prominence during the Second SCNE, although right-wing politicians occasionally unseated Durrutis from power.
Free Commonwealth of New Endralon (2512-2606)[]
The right-wing finally broke through again in 2512, restoring a capitalist society officially to the nation. This era was mostly dominated by an ideology combining left-wing social liberties with right-wing market freedoms, most infamously under the Newfenheimer. MacLean and Ormos families. It also saw the first signs of broader Kizenian participation and its effects on the New Endralonian political situation.
Republica Socialista din Nou Endralon (2603-2660)[]
The rise of the KCCP brought the Left back to power, now under a Kizenian family, the Sandulescus. Originally running under the assumed Endralonian name of "Rich Whiteman," the Sandulescus came to dominate the third Socialist state (the RSNE), which became increasingly dictatorial, unlike the previous socialist periods. By this time, the Kizenian disenfranchisement was at an end, as was the widespread use of the Endralonian language - from 2603 onward, it was Kizenian, officially.
Naţiune din Nou Endralôn (2660-2686)[]
The Sandulescus became the House of Sandulescu in 2660, when Dimitri Sandulescu was crowned King of New Endralon. The attempt to convert the nation from Communism to Monarchy overnight was not wildly successful, and by 2686, there was clamor for change.
Republica Noua Endralon (2686-2745)[]
The Kingdom ultimately fell with House Sandulescu, when the new Parliament refused to crown Dimitri's son, and instead the Presidency of the nation fell to House Constantinescu. Houses Cojocaru, Lupei, and Sicte also grew in importance during the Republic, although the nation fell into chaos under the latter, who applied the lessons the Sandulescus had learned to the new era, with similar results.
Kingdom of New Endralon (2745-2777)[]
Sicte's son had become "President" in 2738, despite obvious signs of his mental unfitness for the job - including his proclamation that he was to be referred to as "Pharaoh Utesom the First." Utesom's reign was chaotic at best; the most notable long-lasting impact, and what he is best remembered for today (aside from an unnatural fascination with puyramids) is the identity of his last Prime Minister; Anais Kuzaki.
Republica Noua Endralon restored (2778-2791)[]
The Republic's second, short-lived gasp was a flurry of attempts to reform the nation, under the ironically named Klaudiuz the Terrible, then under Anais Kuzaki.
The Zeiţă (2792-2858)[]
Technically still known as the Republica Noua Endralon, the nation fell into a de-facto absolute theocracy with the elevation of Jade, and the Cult of Jade which held absolute power, despite an extended period in which they were a minority of the Parliament itself. This period is retroactively referred to as the Jadedom or the Great Insanity, given the events of the period.
Noua Endraloneză Republica Socialistă (2858-2929)[]
New Endralon's fourth Socialist government, and the last government under the name of "New Endralon," was Ai's (and later Ren's) New Endralon Socialist Republic. Affiliated with the UKSR under Ai, the nation attempted to invade and annex the break-away Caille Province away from Egelion and into the UKSR fold. When that plan failed and the UKSR began to collapse, Ai and Ren held onto power, relying on the ghosts and memories of the nation's past as a communist state.
United Confederation of Kizenia and Kuzaki (2929-3016)[]
The Communist state was officially dissolved in 2929, in favor of a Confederation government. The later bit of Ren's reign, plus all of Alexandra's and much of Silvia's, occurred in this mostly one-party confederation, culminating in Alexandra, and later Silvia, making a claim of monarchy and divine rights to rule.
Anarchy (3016-3050)[]
In July 3015, the Anarhist Partidul, led by the controversial Socrate Ucigaş, won a plurality in Parlamentul and began a campaign to abolish the state, culminating in major budget cuts in 3020 and 3023 which made law enforcement practically impossible for the state. Though Parlamentul has formally continued to meet, nearly all public services in Kizenia have been privatised, including the courts and national defence. The Partidul Socialist din Noua Endralon has held a plurality since 3026, but the libertarian coalition led by Mr. Ucigaş has been able to hold them off.
Kingdom of New Endralon (3050-3176)[]
In 3050, as a response to the continued statelessness and because of the perceived inability of the Clan of Anais to restore order, a coup managed to bring the Endralonian House of Syldavia on the Kizenian throne. The country returned to its old colonial name of New Endralon, as it slowly became a colony once again.
Kingdom of Kizenia (3176-3218)[]
In 3176 the House of Syldavia was overthrown and the House of Săndulescu was restored to the throne as Kizenia declared its independence under an aristocratic government. This aristocratic monarchy lasted until 3218, when the Kingdom of Kizenia was brought into a personal union with the Kingdom of Kazulia in a controversial move.
Republic of Kizenia (3224-3286)[]
After several decades of monarchy, government became irresponsible and useless. Loss of power and control over military resulted in Nationalist Coup in 3224, which overthrew the dual monarchy with Kazulia and set up radical Republic of Kizenia.
Rebirth of New Endralon (3489-3703)[]
After the United Kingdom of Kizenia and New Endralon died around 3420's, the New Endralonians felt oppressed and down. It wasnt until 3480 that the New Endralonians participated openly in politics. But in 3489 the New Endralonian People's Party together with the Bordrian Party beat the Kizenian Socialist, in 3492 the people of then-still called Kizenia, gave the coalition of NEPP and BP the majority and thus brought fourth the Federal Republic of New Endralon.
This new Endralon wasnt created to oppres the Kizenians, rather each culture could florish on its own through national pride by going back to the roots of the country and the benefitting Federal system that allowed more local development and decision making.
Tri-Lingual Federation (3956-4231)[]

From around 3900 the central government took a lot of power back from the regions and this eventually led to the forming of the Tri-Lingual Federation in 3956. While the regions still had some power the central government held most of the power. This federation failed and the government became very powerful and corrupt. In 4231 the corrupt Federation was finally abolished by the new formed Libertarian Party. It immediately gave the powers back to the regions and the corruption halted. Since then the Confederation was restored the nation is growing again.

Following the fall of the SRNE, New Endralon flirted with several other political systems, ranging from theocracy and dictatorship to liberal republicanism and capitalism.
