At present, the Imperial Armed Forces are composed of three conventional branches, the Imperial Army, the Imperial Army Navy and the Imperial Air Force, in addition to two autonomous branches, the Imperial Guard and the 14th Artillery Division.
At one time the Imperial Army of Indrala was one of the largest standing armies in the world and the Indralan Navy was one of the worlds few blue-water navies. While it has been overtaken in recent centuries by countries such as Vanuku and Hutori, Indrala maintains one of the most powerful armed forces in Dovani and Seleya.
The Imperial Guards are responsible for VIP protection and act as the praetorian guard of the Emperor and the Imperial court. The 14th Artillery Division is responsible for the management of Indrala's nuclear arsenal, though it does not technically have the status of an independent branch it has it's own General Staff Department to manage itself.
The Minister of the Guards, who leads the Imperial Guards is technically the Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Armed Forces while the Grand Commandant is the equivalent of the Minister of Defense. The Chief of the Imperial Armed Forces General Staff Department is the day-to-day leader of the Imperial Armed Forces and technically the most powerful military officer, currently 1st Class General Bai Xue Jiang is the Chief of the IAF General Staff Department. Indrala, alongside Trigunia and Lodamun is one of the leading military equipment exporters in the world due to the fact that the Indralan's often sell their equipment at cheap prices and are easy to maintain.
Cildanian Civil WarEdit
The Imperial Army Ground Forces and Imperial Army Navy intervened late in the Cildanian Civil War. The Jien Faction, the largest and most prominent ruling faction in Indrala brought to the National Assembly and the Council of Military Affairs a request from Indrala's ally, Dorvik. Dorvik had requested that the Indralan's intervene in the conflict, shortly before doing so the Imperial government of Cildania collapsed. The collapse of the Imperial government saw the rise of a provisional government underneath the Apostolic Army in Majatra and eventually the rise of a military government. Senior General Zhou Jing, the Chief of Staff of the General Staff Department and Commander of the Imperial Army Ground Force announced that the Imperial Army would be providing support alongside Dorvik, Trigunia and several other nations.
The bulk of the force was from the Imperial Army Navy commanded by Admiral Bo Xun alongside Senior General Zhou Jing. It was the first test for the Imperial Army, many defense experts throughout the world considered the Indralan military a "paper dragon" that it looked fierce but lacked the capabilities of its counter-parts such as Dorvik or Trigunia. General Jing however set out on a two-fold mission, prove the capabilities of the Indralan military and to ensure that the Ahmadist in Cildanian did not gain a foothold. The Indralan part of the campaign began in late June 3876 with the Imperial Army Navy and Imperial Army Navy Marine Corps landing in Qart Yam and establishing a beachhead. After pushing south east towards Qildarmiim and Sis to grow a much larger supply chain with the ultimate goal to capture Namal Ḣaṡri. Following the campaign to push several rebel militias out of Qart Yam, the Imperial Army Armed Police offered their services to the local government in exchange for a temporary air base in Qart Yam. Junior General Wei Tang and Senior Colonel Xiang Du of the General Political Department were appointed to restore rule of law in areas conquered by the Imperial Army forces.
The Indralan Imperial Army launched a massive assault on Hadiik-Mijidiil encompassing more than one hundred thousand troops and all branches of the Imperial Army. The assault was directed by Senior General Zhou Jing in Qart Yam and ended several months later with he successful capture of Hadiik-Mijidiil and the near destruction of the Ahmadi State in Cildania. Senior General Zhou worked closely with the Cildanian government and secured approval for the construction of a naval base in Qart Yam, as well as a joint training center in Qart Yam as well. The successful close for Indrala in the Cildanian Civil War saw the Indralan military and state rise to a power never before seeing before.
The Imperial Army is at the command of the August-Sage King, the Imperial Army swears unconditional loyalty to the monarchy and vows to protect it. Underneath the recent rise of the Generals Faction, the military has taken its role as protectors of the monarchy private. This was done as an attempt to foster greater military cooperation internationally as well as expand their recruitment base and mission overall. The Council of Military Affairs is the highest decision making body for the Imperial Army, the Council of Military Affairs is de facto chaired by the August-Sage King but de jure by the Chief of Staff of the General Staff Department, who serves as the Grand Guardian.
Day to day, the Imperial Army is commanded by the Grand Guardian who serves as the Chief of Staff the General Staff Department and as Commander of the Imperial Army Ground Forces. Traditionally whoever rises to the post of Chief of Staff is appointed as Grand Guardian by the August-Sage King as well as Commander of the Imperial Army Ground Forces. The Minister of War (Minister of Defense in other, Western nations) is the civilian head of the Imperial Army, they are charged with administering the civilian side of the Imperial Army.
Imperial Army General HeadquartersEdit
The Imperial Army General Headquarters is the overall name for the military departments that make up the general staff of the Imperial Army. The Council of Military Affairs is a highest military decision making body in the nation aside from the August-Sage King. They are further divided into departments which manage specific aspects of the Imperial Army. The General Staff Department is the largest and most prestigious of them all.
The Imperial Army is divided in Military regions, these military regions are large geographical designations where appointed military commanders are responsible for units underneath them. The Imperial Army maintains these military regions as part of the their permanent readiness policy. Military regions are responsible for mobilizing Imperial Army units underneath it. The military regions are responsible for all units underneath their command, including units outside the commanders own service branch.
The five primary military regions are the Shu Military Region, the Anle Military Region, the Min Military Region, the Han Military Region and the Jiaohazi Military Region. The capital Tian'an is a special military district, the further sub-division of military regions. The Imperial Army has several military regions on the Dovani continent, the Imperial Army has some military units stationed in Dovani, however the bulk are "paper" units.

14th Artillery DivisionEdit
The 14th Artillery Division (Indralan: 帝國第十四砲兵師, Dìguó dì shísì pàobīng shī) is the strategic missile arm of the Imperial Army. The 14th Artillery Division controls both strategic conventional missiles and Indrala's limited supply of nuclear weapons. It is reported that the Indralan military holds nearly 50 nuclear warheads with the ability to produce several more. The Imperial Army's stance on nuclear weapons is as a last resort or in stopping a total capitulation of Indralan territory to an enemy force.
