International Civil Liberties Council (ICLC)

ICLC would like each of its members to put forth bills that fight for civil liberties.
Fundamental individual rights, such as freedom of speech and religion, protected by law against unwarranted governmental or other interference. ICLC believes civil liberties In general are, the rights to freedom of thought, expression, and action, and the protection of these rights from government interference or restriction. Civil liberties are the hallmark of liberal, democratic “free” societies.

Remember civil liberties are protections from the power of governments. These are usually guaranteed and protected by a constitution or by adherence to an international treaty.
