International Civil Liberties Council (ICLC)

Motto: "Think. Feel. Civil Liberties."

ICLC would like each of its members to put forth bills that fight for civil liberties.

Fundamental individual rights, such as freedom of speech and religion, protected by law against unwarranted governmental or other interference. ICLC believes civil liberties In general are, the rights to freedom of thought, expression, and action, and the protection of these rights from government interference or restriction. Civil liberties are the hallmark of liberal, democratic “free” societies.

The noun civil liberty has 2 meanings:

  • Meaning #1: one's freedom to exercise one's rights as guaranteed under the laws of the country Synonym: political liberty
  • Meaning #2: fundamental individual right protected by law and expressed as immunity from unwarranted governmental interference

Remember civil liberties are protections from the power of governments. Examples include the right to life, freedom from torture, freedom from slavery and forced labour, the right to privacy, the right to a fair trial, freedom of speech and freedom of assembly, and the right to marry and have a family. These are usually guaranteed and protected by a constitution or by adherence to an international treaty.

ICLC's goal is to promote civil liberties thruout Terra! ICLC ask that all parties that believe everyone (yes, everyone) should have rights. Join today!
