The Conservative Democratic Kingdom of Jelbania is a nation located on the continent of Majatra. It borders with Deltársko to the south, Zardugal in the west and Vanuku to the north. The nation formally came into existence in its present form in 2136 as as Republic. In 2603, the 500 year Republic ended and was replaced by a Kennedy Monarchy which continues to reign to this day. Since the Kennedy take over, Jelbania had expanded its influence on the Majatra continent and world affairs. In the last two hundred years, Jelbania has struggled to decide its political destiny, a Republic or a Monarchy.

The Jelbanian Military is one of the strongest in Terra due to Jelbanian's moderate population and military enthusiasm. The Jelbanian Military is currently under the control of Emperor Steven P. Kennedy IX but achieved its independence from Deltaria under Emperor Steven P. Kennedy VIII.

Jelbania is a Constitutional Monarchy (as of 2808) with an elected Head of State, known as the President, and is elected at least once every six years in a two round voting system. It has a unicameral national legislature, known as the Imperial Consortium, with 75 elected members, elected in general elections, held at the same time as elections for the President in a system of proportional representation.
The Cabinet is formed through a coalition of political parties who must have a majority within the Imperial Consortium. Cabinet members have the power to implement policies within their ministerial briefs, however any party within the Imperial Consortium is able to present legislation.
Although the Cabinet holds power within the nation coalitions are usually fairly weak, so that governing partners are able to vote against one another, without automatically threatening the continued stability of the government. Cabinets also take several months to form after general elections, which often means a minority government is left in place immediately after elections, until a new majority coalition can be formed.
Within the Imperial Consortium various political parties hold seats, according to the number of votes received at the previous elections. Parties are strong units, as party leaders have the ability to ensure that their entire party backs a uniform line when voting on proposed legislation. Currently Jelbania is a one party democracy, (as of 2808).
