[edit] Modern Odufart
Odufart evolved from Anantonese in modern coastal Odufaray through isolation and assimilation of native words. Odufart spread from the area of modern Genderis to most of mainland Kalistan prior to the Anantan conquest. After Jorge I's conquest, Anantonese became the official language, but because of Ananto's relative isolation from the rest of Kalistan, Odufart remained the chief language in Odufaray, eastern Neveras, and southeastern Vrassa. Over the following centuries, however, it evolved to be much closer to Anantonese. Modern Odufart is very close to Anantonese, and is still the predominating language in the Neveras Valley and most of the coastline between Monty and the Kluptoon River. It is recognized as an official language of Kalistan, and the national government issues translations of publications in Odufart, as do the governments of Vrassa, Neveras, and Odufaray. Neveras conducts its governmental business in Odufart, rather than Anantonese; Odufaray, however, uses Anantonese.

[edit] Borkistani
The ancient language of the Borcii tribe, saved from oblivion by the Borkistanis' refusal to submit to outside cultural influence. While it lasted for millenia of occupation as the main language of Borkistan, today it is mainly spoken in the poorer Borkistani countryside than in the cities, where Odufart and Anantonese are prevalent. It is both a subject of interest and criticism by linguists for its seeming obsessing with the word "Bork," which was used in place of all proper nouns (tribe name, place names, personal names, rivers, ect), until the introduction of other languages that could give variation. In this way it borrowed heavily from Odufart and Anantonese, but only in proper nouns (Jorge Bork, Borkenburg, Borkito River, etc), while the rest of the language is loyal to its roots.
[edit] Freiheit Duntrekkaans
The a dialect of the national language of Dundorf. It is spoken by communities of Duntrekkers throughout Kalistan. Duntrekkers began appearing in small groups throughout Kalistan in the 19th century, but their presence only became obvious during the 20th century, when Kalistani nobles who had fled the country and married into Dundorfer families began returning and inviting trekkers from other parts of the world, notably Deltaria, to Kalistan. This is how the largest Duntrekker community in Kalistan, the city of Dulnarstaad on Ananto, which was founded. Originally entirely Duntrekker and is still today over 50% Dun and the fourth largest metropolitan area on the island. Outside of Dulnarstaad, there are a few scattered communities of Duntrekkaans speakers. Kalistani Duntrekkaans is slightly different from other dialects found throughout the world, having absorbed words from the native tongues. The Kalistani dialect is named Freiheit Duntrekkaans, after the Duke David Freiheit, who founded Dulnarstaad and led the second and larger Duntrekker migration to Kalistan.
[edit] Gorpsprechen
Descended from the Gorpistanis (Anantonese "tribe without land"), Borkistanis who refused to recognize Odoronan control and became pirates. This language combined with the languages of other pirates, including Vintalli, Monty, Da-Tze, and most importantly, Dundorfer, to create a creole that acted as the universal language of north Seleyan pirates. As the pirate scourge was continuously wiped out during the 19th century, the language fell out of use, since it was only spoken by pirates and those living in their ports, and outlawed by the empire. It reemerged, however, from near oblivion after the First Republic, when the remaining pirates and their families settled along the coast between Monty and Borkistan. Today it is a rare but live language, spoken by small, proud communities of former pirates. Its closest relative is still Borkistani.
[edit] Jahmaikan
Native language of the Jahmaikan people along the border between Kalistan and Lodamon. Mostly forgotten in Lodamese Jahmaika, it had a revival in recent decades because of the Jahmaikan national movement. It has changed little since ancient times, and is one of the purest of the "High Kalii" native languages. Spoken mainly in the countryside and smaller cities of Jahmaika, and also in Jahmaikan neighborhoods of cities like Reynoldia and Kaliburg.
[edit] Lao-Tze
A Tze dialect spoken only in seculded, mountainous areas of the district of High Neveras, Neveras, by the Lao-Tze tribe.
[edit] Lodamese
Language of Kalistan's northern neighbor, its acceptance in Jahmaika in the 20th century led it to bleed over the border into Vrassa. It is spoken in Kalistani Jahmaika about as much as Anantonese and Jahmaikan. It also appears in Lodamese immigrant neighborhoods.
[edit] Panmuan
Panmuan, or Qinmu, was invented in 1989 by Jin Mudao as part of the Mutze nationalist movement in the late 20th century. Having studied all the minor dialects used by poor Mu and Tze peasants in the mountains of western Kalistan, Mudao introduced a single language that combined elements from Grani, Bong, Lao-Tze, Shi-Tze, Tze-Tze, and Pimu, hoping that being united in a common language, the Mu and Tze could more successfully fight for independence, or at least more attention, from Kalistan. Though the movement failed, and the Mu and Tze lands remain the poorest in Kalistan, the language caught on amoung the Granistanis and Bongistanis, where it replaced Pimu, Grani, and Bong.
[edit] Shi-Tze
A Tze language (descended from the language of the ancient Tvii tribe), called the mother of the Tze languages. It is heard only in the small district of Shi-Tze, located in the Dana Range of northern Suldanor. It is only spoken by the few members of the Shi-Tze tribe.
[edit] Tze-Tze
A Tze dialect spoken only in the seculded mountains of the Tze-Tze district of Odufaray. It is the tongue of the Tze-Tze tribe.
[edit] Ulshuri
Descended from the ancient language of the Vltiorii tribe, this language has over time borrowed many words from Vintalli, Odufart, and Anantonese. Today it is spoken only in the Ulshuristan district of Suldanor, but it is surprisingly prevalent there, being considered more of an official language in the major industrial city of Ulshurpest than English or Odufart. Despite its prevalance in Ulshuristan, it is rarely spoken elsewhere in Kalistan.
