The Consulate was the government of Lourenne between their declaration of independence from Rildanor in 1875 until the start of the first Lourennien Civil War 1910. During this period, Thomas Cheval, as First Consul had established himself as the head of a more conservative, authoritarian, autocratic, and centralized republican government in Lourenne while not declaring himself head of state. Cheval on paper held the same amount of power as the other two Consuls but in reality was considered to be the more influential of the other consuls.
