Merkan Province is the largest province in Kirlawa and the least populated. It has the highest in elevation in Kirlawa, Mount Mourlin. In addition to the mountains, it also has highlands and valleys.

Merkan has the coldest climate of all the provinces due to elevation. It receives about 87 inches of snow a year. In the warmer months, temps average about 67 degrees while in the colder months, temps average about 45 degrees. The land locked location means the province is not suseptible to any tropical systems or monsoons during the summer months.
