The regular army of Kanjor is broken into seven permanent divisions of roughly 30,000 men each. Each mainland région has two infantry division stationed within its borders while Vagderra houses the single armed divisions.

[edit] Légion Étranger de Kanjor

There is one Foreign Legion Division comprised of non-Kanjorien nationals. They are considered by the country, and themselves, to be an elite fighting force. The Foreign Legion is often a pathway to citizenship given the strict immigration controls of Kanjor.

[edit] Garde Territorial

Given the large number of conscripts serving in the military due to the National Service Act of January 2610 the army is not considered fully regular or professional. Instead, the vast majority of the armed forces are part-time Garde Territorial reservists. The GT consists of roughly 650,000 men, mostly conscripts, making up thirteen divisions of 50,000 men each. GT members attend regular training camps and frequently participate in exercises alongside the regular army.

These forces are unequally distributed throughout the kingdom and their headquarters often move every several years to coincide with the demographic shifts of the population of the GT.

[edit] L'Marine Royale

The geographical location of Kanjor and its reliance on the sea and the Sovalt Channel has made the Royal Navy the largest professional branch of the Armed Forces of the Crown. The Navy has approximately 230,000 active duty personnel with a further 200,000 in the Garde Naval as reservists.

The Navy is considered the most well trained and equipped in the Armed forces and because of this, its personnel considers themselves elite. The fighting spirit, or esprit de corps, of the Navy is tremendously high which leads to many violent and high profile incidences with other branches that the Navy has made some progress in ending after suffering bad press.

The Royal Navy operates roughly 70 vessels of various sizes and functions; each designated as NNK or Navire Naval de Kanjorien. The fleet flagship is the battleship NNK Gloire. It sails alongside two other battleships; the NNK Victoire, and NNK Honneur. These vessels are older than most of the fleet but are kept updated and operational due to their symbolic natures.

By far, the most powerful forces of the Royal Navy are the two Empereur Alphonse IV-class nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. The fleet consists of the NNK Empereur Alphonse IV and her sister ship the NNK Valeur. Both of these carriers carry upwards of forty aircraft and at least one of the vessels is on constant patrol in or around the Sovalt Channel and the Isle of Tondola.

A series of eight missile cruisers and fifteen destroyers round out the major capital ships of the Marine Royale.

However, the bulk of the fleet is made up of nearly twenty-five Kanjo and Atyr-class frigates. These general purpose vessels perform numerous tasks ranging from search and rescue support to protecting vital shipping and communication routes to the Isle of Tondola.

The three submarine flotillas make up the largest contingent of the Navy's offensive fleet. Each flotilla contains six boats of various classes and are in constant patrol in and around vital interests of Kanjor.

[edit] Troupes de Marine

There is a special place in the Marine Royale, and the hearts of the people of the Isle of Tondola for the Troupes de Marine. Composing the land arm of the Navy, and having consistently existed for nearly five hundred years, the soldiers of the troupes de marine are more likely than any other branch to be posted and serve in overseas or foreign locals. Because of their illustrious history and frequent overseas ventures, the troupes de marine consider themselves the "élite de l'élite" of the entire Armed Forces of the Crown. The training period for marines is longer than the land forces of the Army.

There are four Marine divisions consisting of approximately 15,000 men each. These divisions have the expressed honor of patrolling and protecting the capital, the government, and the régions of the Isle of Tondola. As a point of honor, other branches are not generally (unless it is a time of war) not allowed to house combat soldiers on the Isle.

The marines are the only force trained in amphibious assault, conduct large-scale overseas peacekeeping missions and provide security at naval installations.

[edit] Service Aérien Naval

The SAN operates carrier borne aircraft, helicopters (carried by many Kanjoran warships) and long range maritme surveillance and search and rescue aircraft. The primary carrier borne aircraft is the 'Boucanier' produced by the Arsenal de Helion.
