The National Progressive Party of Sekowo also known as the National Progressives or simply as Progressives was a center-left wing political party in the Kingdom of Sekowo that existed from 4073 to 4123, a span of 50 years. The party was founded as a moderate alternative to communism and extreme left-wingism. In its later stages, the Progressives campaigned for the reinstatement of the Royal Family and an active pursuit for international peace and cooperation. In its final years, the party was was lead by then-Prime Minister Senni Kameyama. The party was popular among the low-income to middle class, college towns, and those in the artistic field, including actors and singers.

Founding[]
The National Progressive Party was formed in 4073 during the communist regime of Sekowo as the Radical Republican People's Party (急進共和人民党). The purpose of the party was to exist as a moderate alternative to the coalition of communist parties that ruled the nation. While the party overall supported left-wing ideas, their main positions included media equality, education, and the absolute separation of church and state.
After the dissolution of the communist coalition, the party took a different direction in rebuilding the nation. Renaming themselves as the National Progressive Party (国民進歩党), its main focus became finding the balance between socialist and capitalist policies to benefit all citizens. Some of its main focuses included internationalism, environmental awareness, and affordable education. During its reign as a majority party, it actively pursued a bipartisan government with the Freedom Party (自由党).
Dissolution
After the election of 4120, in which the Freedom Party took majority power, the National Progressive Party was forced to abstain many of the proposed bills after a series of armed resistance movements from the newly-legalized Sekowo Weapons Rights Association. The movement was aimed to pressure party members to vote for many of the proposed bills, including a proposal to exit many prominent treaties. The party finally announced its decision to dissolve in 4123. One of its final bills was the dissolution of the Royal Family following the death of the King, marking the end of the Kingdom era and beginning the era of the Federal Republic of Sekowo.
