The Praetors (Governors) are the highest authorities of the Provinciae, equivalent to a regional leader, responsible for laws and government not specified on a Senatorial level. The Praetors are appointed by the Consul Populi to ten-year terms, and may be reappointed. It is the duty of whoever is the Consul Populi to inform the Senate promptly of their appointments and to make prompt appointments when the Praetor's term has expired, preferrably in a formal bill given to the legislature.
-The Senate may remove any Praetor with a 2/3 vote, but the party that won the elections in the region has still the power to choose the substitute.
-The Consul does not have the power to remove Praetors before the end of their term.
The office was founded after the 4255 Selucian elections by Legionem Nationis, which intended to give the leadership of one region to each Selucian party, and change the name of the "Regional Governors" to "Praetors".
After the 4273 elections, Praetors returned to the old system: the winning party in the region would get the position.
