Reynoldia Crisis
From Particracy Wiki
The Reynoldia Crisis was a civil conflict in Kalistan in the late 2360's, between monarchists and communists, led by the Conservative Party of Kalistan and Communism Wow! Party, respectively. The center of the contension was a group of monarchists who opposed CWP president Augusto de Fiume, and wanted to either have certain demands met or flee the country. The conflict approached civil war on numerous occations, and at one point the city of Reynoldia, Suldanor seceded from the state. Actual military involvement never took place, because of CPK control of the Kalistani military. The Reynoldia Declaration brought an end to the tensions, leading to the exodus of many Kalistani monarchists to Gishoto.
The crisis is significant for being the end of the very long-lived Conservative Party, and for about a century of the monarchist movement in general. The exodus to Gishoto resulted in the founding of the Hulstrian Nationalist Party, and by extension the founding of Great Hulstria and apartheid. 2370 and the Reynoldia Declaration marked a turning point in Kalistani politics, swiching from the conservative domination of the 50's and 60's to the more quiet and leftist latter third of the century, when Kalistan was for a time communist.
