Senvias/Eshar Metroplex

The Senvias/Eshar Metroplex is the term used to refer to the metropolis formed by combining the Kalistani cities of Eshar, Odufaray and Senvias, Vrassa. As a combined entity, the metropolis is the second largest in Kalistan, behind the combined Port Davon/Kaliburg. Additionally, Eshar is the capital of Odufaray.

The cities are both located on Eshar Bay, the estuary of the Neveras River where it emerges into the Odufart Sea. Senvias is located on the far north side of the bay, in the Vrassan district of North Lower Neveras. Eshar is located where the river meets the bay on the southern bank, in the Odufart district of South Lower Neveras. At this point, the Neveras River is more than eight miles wide and a major shipping lane, but it is easily crossed because of the many silty islands that fill it near its mouth. Bridging the large gap between the two cities' downtowns is a large industrial and port district, the second largest in Kalistan after Temmon, ahead of that of Kaliburg. The bay itself is remarkably shallow, and most of the ports are the result of large dredging operations started in the mid-19th century to help accomidate the larger ships being used. The shore of the bay is split between container ports and upscale housing, while the coast across the bay is entirely devoted to the wealthy and country clubs.

Senvias/Eshar is the center of Mainland Kalistani manufacturing and non-treacle mining, as well as a major transportation center. Raw materials from Neveras, Vrassa, northern Odufaray, and even inland parts of Baltusia and Lodamun are transported down the Neveras river on rail, trucks, or barges, to Eshar, where they are loaded on to containers or manufactured into finished goods. Eshar is the largest port of departure for Kalistani products (other than treacle), as well as the largest receiver of imports other than Kaliburg. The resources passing through are often used at the multitude of factories in the cities.

Senvias/Eshar is served by Tobias Peters International Airport, located north of the river in Vrassa. There are also a number of smaller airstrips in the area, notably Grand Executive Airfield.
Both Senvias and Eshar have large passenger ship ports near their downtowns. These are used for embarking on both tropical cruises and ferries to Ananto.
Eshar and Senvias serve as the mainland hub of Kaltrain, the nationally-operated rail network. The twin cities are located at the meeting place of the Vrassan Main Line, Lower Neveras Valley Spur, High Plain Line, and of course the Mainland Coastal Main Line, each of which is an important line. This makes it one of the most important rail transit centers in Kalistan.
Eshar and Senvias operate seperate subway systems, the Bay Underground System in Eshar and the Senvias Rapid Transit Authority. Despite this seperation, the two systems share a line that runs between the cities and connects them.
