Elections in Dorvik

Socialdemocratic Party (Dundorfian: Sozialdemokratische Partei) (formerly Freedom/Progressive Party) was a political party in Dorvik. It was founded in 4180 by Mathias Wilderberg as a right-wing reactionary party. Under the leadership of Katharine Graner the party turned centre-left. Under Benjamin Schröder party embraced progressivism and social democracy. Its last leader is Walda Eberhardt. The party was disbanded in late 4202.

History[]

The SDP was founded in 4180 by a former Konservative Union member - Mathias Wilderberg. In it's early years party has been considered "right-wing".

Mathias Wilderberg was known for his agressive rethoric.

Leadership election of 4187 decided the party's new leader. Mrs. Katharine Graner was elected with 290 delegates against Mr. Wilderberg's 260 delegates.

Mrs. Graner has turned the party towards the left, embracing abortion rights and cannabis legalization.

In 4190 Katharine Graner alongside leaders of the Zentrumspartei and Bund Demokratischer Sozialisten created The Orange Tree alliance.

Party's third leader was Benjamin Schröder, a progressive elected in 4193 leaderhip election. Under his leadership party was renamed to "Progressive Partei" and ran it's first presidential candidate since 4189. Shortly after the 4198 election party changed it's name from Progressive Partei to Sozialdemokratishe Partei.

In October of the same year Mr. Schröder stepped down as the SDP Leader. Currently Mrs. Walda Eberhardt is their new leader.
