The State Elections Commission (Dundorfian: Staats Wahlkommission) is an independent body of the Government of Dorvik that is responsible for all operations of elections within Dorvik. The State Elections Commission, formerly known as the Federal Elections Council (Dundorfian: Föderal Wahlen Rat) and previously before that as the National Elections Council, is handled with extreme care and few politicians ever claim that the State Elections Commission is corrupt. The Commissioner of the State Elections Commission is chosen by the head of state and appointed for a term of 10 years, the appointment is confirmed by the national legislature and confirmed by a vote of the Supreme Court of Justice, the highest court of Dorvik.
The Commissioner and the State Elections Commission has widespread powers to ensure that Dorvik remains a democracy through various means, it does not prevent government types from changing but it does prevent government bodies from overriding aspects of the Dorvish electoral system that would effectively make it a complete dictatorship or one-party state. Underneath current Dorvish law, the State Elections Commission is responsible for management of all public funds and dispersing funds during elections.

- Call an Election (on set legislative date) for President or National Assembly.
- Tally votes, put out results.
- Declare an election void due to a reason or set of reasons.
- Call a re-count or a new election.
- Record keeper of all elections.
Powers governing political parties[]
- Approve a political parties application to be nationally recognized.
- Deny a political parties application to be nationally recognized.
- With legislative and judicial approval, ban a political party.
- With legislative and judicial approval, disband a political party.
- Investigate political parties finances and election campaigns.
- Approve a political parties re-constitution.
- Approve a political parties disbandment.
- Keep a record of all political parties leaders, election results, names and associated material.
Political parties and organizations[]
The State Elections Commission classifies political parties and political organizations at three levels: National, Provincial and Local. The SEC must confirm a political party or political organization for whatever level that they apply for. National political organizations and parties are permitted to field candidates for national elections as well as operate at a national level, national political organizations are granted authority to focus on national issues while maintaining all levels below them, each is true for each lower level.
