The Revolution ne'er can yield

From Particracy Wiki

"The Revolution ne'er can yield" was the National Anthem of Gishoto and a song used by communist revolutionaries across Terra. It was popularised as a marching song of The Gishoto Revolutionary army. It was proposed by the Christian Communist Party that it become the national anthem both because of the secular theme of the previous anthem and the difficulty involved in singing what was essencially a speach rather than a poem.

OOC: The song uses the tune Men of Harlech[1] and is closely related to the John Oxenford version of that song.

[edit] The Revolution ne'er can yield

Verse 1

Onward workers, march to glory,
Victory is hov'ring o'er ye,
Bright-eyed freedom stands before ye,
Hear ye not her call?
At your sloth she seems to wonder;
Rend the sluggish bonds asunder,
Let the people's deaf'ning thunder
Every foe appall.
Echoes loudly waking,
Hill and valley shaking;
'Till the sound spreads wide around,
Communism's en'my breaking;
Your foes on every side assailing,
Forward press with heart unfailing,
'Till oppresors learn with quailing,
The revolution ne'er can yield!

Verse 2

Thou, who the people wrongest,
Know the worker's cause is strongest,
The red flag shall fly the longest,
Ending but with death!
Freedom countless hosts can scatter,
Freedom stoutest mail can shatter,
Freedom thickest walls can batter,
Fate is in her breath.
See, they now are flying!
Dead are heap'd with dying!
Over might hath triumph'd right,
Our land to foes denying;
Upon this soil we never sought them,
Lust for power hither brought them,
But this lesson we have taught them,
"The revolution ne'er can yield!"
