Tukarese is a Selucic language and the official language of the nation of Tukarali. Like Egelian, to which it is closely related, Tukarese is a creole language descended from the Sadarian dialect of Selucian, evolving from the vulgar Selucian spoken by settlers from the Kingdoms of Argona and Sadaria in their colonial empires.
For much of its modern history Tukarese remained a minority language due to the relatively low number of Selucian settlers in Tukarali compared to other Selucian colonies. Tukarese first came into prominence with the establishment of the modern state of Tukarali under the Glorious Republic in the 28th century, when it gradually became a lingua franca among Tukarali's diverse ethnolinguistic groups. In spite of this Tukarese had no official status until it was officially recognized under the Democratic Republic of Tukarali in the 34th century. Since then Tukarese has grown to become the first language of the majority of Tukarese people.
