The People's Democratic Republic of Barmenia was the name of a socialist regime that ruled in Barmenistan between 3542 and 3561, overthrowing the Felinist Republic of Barmenia. The People's Democratic Republic came to power as a result of large-scale protests against corruption and Barmenistan's membership in the Deltarian Empire. In the midst of the protests Vanuku proclaimed its independence from Barmenistan, and not long afterwards the People's Democratic Republic was proclaimed.

The Communist Party held power until 3561, when they were ousted by a massive democratic revolution led by the Justice Party. Barmenistan was reformed as a Felinist Republic, however the first elections were once again won by the Communist Party (known simply as "The Ruling Party of Barmenia" after they solidified their hold), which held power until late 3599.
