Zéphyrine Renard was a Kanjoran politician and a leader of the Parti Pour Paix et Progress.

[edit] Young Adulthood
Zéphyrine wanted to be in politics from when she first went to a rally led by Olivier Besancenot in 2444 when she was sixteen years old. She was born and raised in Atyr and went to the same school Olivier had. When she graduated from high school she immediately applied for a job with the PPPP.
[edit] Rise in Position
Zéphyrine had joined the PPPP while it was just beginning and so rose in position rather quickly as her intelligence and quality was noticed. In less than a year she rose from just an aide at a regional headquarters to an important administrator of youth programs directly under the supervision of her hero Olivier Besancenot.
[edit] Relationship with Besancenot
In the months leading up to the presidential election of 2447, Zéphyrine and Besancenot developed a close professional relationship. The two were often seen together during Olivier's campaign for party candidacy and then for the presidency. Once Olivier was elected both admitted that their bond had become more than professional. With a figure like Pierre Etienne leading the PPPP, however, the public cared little about the personal life of their Président.
[edit] PPPP Leadership
After Besancenot lost the presidency in 2452 he took several months to keep away from politics and be with Zéphyrine while still holding on to his party leadership. The two spent their time on the beaches of Yewao and told the media that this was their time to "sort out their own paths". In 2453 Olivier officially resigned as a leader of the PPPP and named Zéphyrine as his successor. Others vying for the highest prominence in the party resented Zéphyrine's position but the transfer of power was largely uncontroversial.

After being the PPPP's candidate for president through several elections, Zéphyrine was finally elected as president of Kanjor in 2466. She also became the second president of the Union de Seleya du Sud at the same time. Her single term was marked by media publicity but very little accomplishment of any kind. She was undermined from within her own party, particularly Pierre Etienne, and was denied the opportunity to run for a second term.
